SOMERSET, MA--The U.S. EPA announced July 22 that Pacific Gas & Electric's Brayton Point power plant must reduce its water withdrawal from Mount Hope Bay by 94% and its annual heat discharge by 96% to comply with the Clean Water Act. The order is one of the larger cleanup actions in the 32-year history of the Environmental Protection Agency's New England office, the Boston Globe said.
