The world's largest automaker announced that it will enter the multi-billion dollar backup power systems market by 2004 by selling stationary fuel cells to businesses that depend on a reliable supply of energy.

General Motors hasn't given up on automotive applications, but a Reuters news story suggests that pursing the stationary market will allow the company to refine its fuel cells as it works toward fuel ...
