HONOLULU--Measures to provide safe, healthy, and comfortable indoor environments while limiting their impact on natural resources are outlined in a new position statement from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
The Society approved its Building Sustainability Position Statement at its 2002 Annual Meeting held here June 22-26.
Under the policy, ASHRAE will develop and disseminate technical information, standards, educational programs, and research to promote building sustainability. The position statement commits the organization to several other initiatives:
