What CDs appeal to the newest generation of opera-lovers? OPERA NEWS decided to consult some experts: four New York City voice students. The members of the quartet, chosen at random by their schools, were given a budget of $100 each to spend on CDs in the Metropolitan Opera Shop, located in the Metropolitan Opera House. The shopping trip took place in late July, when the shop (operated by the Metropolitan Opera Guild, which publishes OPERA NEWS) was quiet, and the students were able to browse at their leisure for the better part of two hours.
