LAKE BUENA VISTA, FLA. -- Tell patients that they may experience long-term donor-site morbidity when fascia lata is harvested for use in pelvic reconstructive surgery, Maj. Andrew J. Walter, MC, USAF, recommended.
That advice is based on the results of a retrospective chart review and patient questionnaire of 71 women who underwent harvesting of a 24-by-3-cm graft of fascia lata from the lateral thigh before pelvic reconstructive surgery he said at the annual meeting of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons.
