PHOENIX_The Giants got 12 phenomenal innings from their bullpen during this three-game series at Arizona. They needed 13 to get a sweep.
The Diamondbacks scored twice before closer Robb Nen could record an out in the bottom of the ninth inning, preventing the Giants from completing the series sweep with a 7-6 victory in front of 41,707 at Bank One Ballpark.
The loss ended the Giants' win streak at seven and prevented them from completing a perfect road trip. And instead of closing to within six games in the National League West, they dropped eight games behind Arizona. The Giants also fell two games behind Los Angeles in the NL wild-card race.
