CLEVELAND _ Time is short now, the long season whittled down to just four weeks. The Red Sox keep insisting there's enough of the schedule left to make their run, to grab the playoff spot that seemed assured back in June.
But is there? The Red Sox seem stuck in their own peculiar two-step, moving up, only to invariably fall back. Sunday represented forward progress, but held no guarantees that it would continue.
