FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. _ A much-anticipated Sunshine State business marketing campaign is set for launch on Oct. 16, though even its supporters say the $1 million budget is far too little to make a profound difference.

In less than two months, Enterprise Florida Inc., the state's top economic development organization, will unveil a broad yearlong marketing effort to tout opportunities to invest and do business in the state's non-tourism industries.

The money that will fund the effort _ including Internet, newspaper, radio and television ads across the United States and overseas _ came from Tallahassee.
