Ken Mastrole earns kudos in Bears' win.(Chicago Tribune)

CHICAGO _ After Friday's 19-17 Bears victory at St. Louis, Henry Burris made his way to Ken Mastrole's locker, shook his fellow quarterback's hand and gave him a hug.

Mastrole's 15-yard pass to wide receiver Kenny Christian with 55 seconds left allowed the Bears to pull out their first exhibition win at the Rams' expense. The touchdown had been set up by a 52-yarder from Mastrole to Christian.

But now the questions begin about whether Mastrole's heroics might have come at the expense of Burris, who struggled for the second straight game.

Burris said he wasn't concerned.

"It's going to be a process for me and I felt I did things better …
