Dec. 20--TRINIDAD, Colo.--A spokesman for Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association confirmed Wednesday that Las Animas County is in the running for a proposed $1.2 billion coal-firing power generating plant.
Jim Van Someren, communications manager for Tri-State, said the company likely won't make any decision before spring on whether or when the plant will be built, let alone where the company might locate it.
