Let me just start by saying I loved the article "Great Expectations" about fertility in Better Nutrition's July issue. I really appreciated that it brought up a man and woman's need for nutritional diets and supplements as a way to help with fertility problems. As a young girl, I fell into that "I have to be thin to be healthy" trap and began to exercise excessively while cutting down my meals (I probably ate less than 1,200 calories a day). When my menstruation slowed down at a young age, fellow athletes told me I was just being "healthy" and "fit."
