CHICAGO _ In the coming days and weeks you're going to hear a lot about what Tyrone Willingham isn't.

You're going to hear that he isn't good enough, isn't smart enough, isn't funny enough. You'll hear he wasn't a steady winner at Stanford and that he wasn't Notre Dame's first choice or fourth choice or 84th choice. You'll hear he isn't the right person for a school that needed to hire a big-name coach to replace George O'Leary, who had outfitted Truth with a letter sweater and a master's degree.

You'll hear that the guy hasn't really done much big-time coaching and that he's not loud enough. You'll hear that he's not Lou Holtz. You'll hear that he's not Lou Holtz a lot.
