NEW ORLEANS _ It would be easy to call Illinois senior quarterback Kurt Kittner and Louisiana State senior quarterback Rohan Davey fast friends, but that wouldn't be exactly correct.
Kittner's lumbering, broken-play runs are always worth a few yuks during film sessions. After Kittner totaled 12 yards in six carries against Indiana, a teammate kiddingly wrote "Kittner El" on the locker-room blackboard, a reference to speedy Hoosiers QB Antwaan Randle El.
And while Davey's upper-body strength is easy to see ("I haven't seen him go down yet," said Illinois linebacker Jerry Schumacher), his mobility may be limited in Tuesday night's Sugar Bowl by the bruised ribs that knocked him out of the Southeastern Conference championship game.
