CHICAGO _ It was late in the first quarter of the Minnesota Timberwolves' 95-74 victory Saturday, and Bulls rookie Eddy Curry, grappling among Minnesota defenders, turned toward the basket and let go a short jumper.

Yes, that's also the sound of a Kevin Garnett block.

It might have happened six years ago at some South Side playground when Garnett was a senior at Farragut High School and Curry was a big 13-year-old. It happened Saturday in the United Center, and it sent a message to Curry and the Bulls that they still have some growing up to do.
