Q. I contacted Amoco and was told all their gas sold in Illinois is ethanol-blended, which is mandated by law. Searching other brands at the pump, I've found no nonethanol options, short of the 100 octane (and higher) racing fuel available at a station 25 miles from my home. Do you know of any source? My (older) Porsche 911 with Bosch's mechanical fuel injection really doesn't like ethanol.

A. We called Porsche to verify, that, as we suspected, ethanol fuel, which is mandated throughout Illinois, should not cause a problem in your 911, though you don't specify how old your 911 is.
