RENO, NEV. -- Cervical length maintained its clinical relevance as a predictor of preterm delivery in twin gestations after multifetal pregnancy reduction, Dr. Andrei Rebarber reported in a poster session at the annual meeting of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
"We were concerned about using trans-vaginal sonography to predict premature birth in these at-risk pregnancies since the predictive value of this modality may be affected by this procedure," said Dr. Rebarber of New York University, New York. The result could be an increase in either false-positive or false-negative test results.
