Apr. 27--CARNIVAL CORP. Will partner on Internet vacations: Carnival Corp. (CCL), and privately owned The Mark Travel Corp. said Wednesday they have signed a 50-50 joint venture agreement to launch eLeisure Network, an Internet-based leisure vacation marketing and distribution platform.
eLeisure Network will offer a new business-to-business model using e-commerce for the distribution of vacations, the companies said. Travel agents and online travel marketers will be able to use the engine for bookings made in their agencies and by their customers on their private-label Web sites.
Carnival, based in Miami, operates Carnival Cruise Lines, Holland America Line, Windstar Cruises, Costa Cruises, Cunard Line and Seabourn Cruise Line.
