This has been a remarkable entry into the growing season. The winter was cold enough to get our plants to stay dormant, and any damage from the cold was not irreparable. A stroll around my garden in February indicated that all was quick - as in "the quick and the dead." I have to hand it to our amazing plants; I could never have made it through some of those frigid rains, and rain it did. With these blessed beginnings we should be geared up and ready to jump into all kinds of creative garden projects. I am a busy girl, so for now I am planning a garden that provides beauty and color with a minimum of hard work needed to keep it that way. Sounds good, sounds easy - and it really can be so. In this column I hope to give you an idea of how to go about it and help you to have the courage to make your garden completely and individually your own.
