Managed behavioral health care company ValueOptions will pay $1.5 million in cash and provide $1 million in services to the state of Connecticut following a three-year investigation by the state attorney general's office into allegations that a health plan, for which ValueOptions was a subcontractor, systematically denied payments for medically necessary Medicaid mental health services for children.
