Ventura County, Calif., Expects to Continue Jobs Growth Trend.

Aug. 9--While Los Angeles County loses manufacturing jobs, Ventura County is expected to continue a five-year growth trend by setting a new high for manufacturing employment this year, according to an economic report released today.

Manufacturing employment in Ventura County has been growing since 1996 and should reach a new high of about 40,400 jobs this year, according to the report. The aerospace and high tech sector accounts for about 26 percent of those jobs.

But Ventura has the smallest manufacturing sector of the five counties studied for the report. The San Fernando Valley alone had more than double the number of jobs in …
