* Sterile processing professionals make their living worrying about little things that can cause big problems. One worry they're finding won't go away is the fad that some sterile processing departments, perhaps more than ever, are skirting recommendations regarding biological monitoring of loads.
Even though central service, perioperative nursing and other sterilization-focused organizations agree that biological monitoring should be mandatory when processing used medical devices, inconsistencies clearly persist.
