Nov. 23--The percentage of Upstate New York residents receiving health insurance coverage through their employers dropped slightly between 2000-01 and 2002-03, while the numbers covered by government-sponsored programs increased, according to a recent Excellus BlueCross BlueShield report.
The level of employer-sponsored health insurance coverage in upstate New York, however, is still higher than in the downstate area, which includes New York City, according to the report.
