Nov. 24--Workplace crime costs Florida businesses a whopping $27.4 billion a year, more than employers spend on office space, a new study found.

And savings from a reduction in business crime could be used to boost employment or allow more companies to offer benefits such as health insurance, according to the report issued Tuesday by Attorney General Charlie Crist and a coalition of crime prevention advocates.
