Nov. 22--EVANS MILLS, N.Y. -- Officials in LeRay and Evans Mills are hopeful that a proposed Wal-Mart Supercenter to be built on Route 11 could lead to further expansion of the commercial district there.
A few restaurant chains have contacted the town and expressed an interest in opening in LeRay if the new Wal-Mart is built. So far, town officials said, none of those developers has committed to anything.
LeRay town Supervisor Ronald C. Taylor hopes that those few inquiries will be the leading edge of a wave of new businesses coming to Route 11 and Route 342.
