Nov. 22--MASSENA, N.Y. -- The Greater Massena Chamber of Commerce will begin tracking consumer complaints, but the records will not be made public and no further action may be taken.

Richard A. Brummel of Brummel Computer Services approached the Chamber board of directors Oct. 22 to propose it establish a "complaint registry." He suggested that customers with complaints lodge them in writing at the chamber office, and the business, regardless of chamber membership, would have the option of defending itself in a public file.

Mr. Brummel admitted he has a vested interest as he's "taken bad hits" through the rumor mill and would like an option such as this to counteract what he regards as unfounded complaints.
