Nov. 20--Blockbuster Inc. of Dallas has a new competitor in its attempt to buy Hollywood Entertainment Corp.

After the Movie Gallery bid Friday, Hollywood shares went up 85 cents to $12.53, more than a dollar over Blockbuster's $11.50 offer. Blockbuster fell 37 cents a share to $8.05.

Movie Gallery Inc., the No. 3 movie rental company, entered the bidding Friday without saying how much it would pay.
