The outlook for tech jobs is clearing.
The unemployment rate in Silicon Valley's Santa Clara County, Calif., is down to 5.3% from a high above 9% in January 2003. And a tech industry group says information technology firms stand to benefit from the trade policies of newly re-elected President Bush.
"If we look at the big picture, I think the Bush administration has been great in trying to open foreign markets to competition from U.S. software and IT products," said Robert Holleyman, president of the Business Software Alliance trade group. "That's the single biggest thing that can be done to bring jobs in."
