Cerner to Buy VitalWorks Division
Cerner said it will buy the medical unit of VitalWorks for $100 million. The unit sells systems for electronic medical records, practice management and claims processing. The deal will add 30,000 doctors to the 100,000 who currently use Cerner's systems.
