At Thanksgiving. I am in charge of the menu and much of the cooking for 20 to 25 family members. I appreciate that most of my family likes to cook, and they all contribute in some way.
My mother is the stuffing expert. She makes great stuffing, even if it is heavy.
My sister-in-law is the undisputed dessert queen.
My brother is the appetizer maven. Maybe even the hummus guy, for every year he makes that bean spread either out of chickpeas, white beans or a mixture.
We always have five times more food than we need so all my relatives bring their own set of containers for leftovers. As I greet them at the door, they deposit their containers with me.
Without further ado, here are a few of my favorite holiday recipes. If you're vegetarian or vegan, Thanksgiving can be a challenge.
