MIAMI _ It was as if the University of Miami was holding a voodoo session in front of 41,315 fans inside the Orange Bowl.

The Hurricanes' 52-7 pounding of Wake Forest seemed more like a cleansing of the past month's misery more than a football game, with Miami exorcising its demons against the Demon Deacons.
