HOMESTEAD, Fla. _ Returning to the racetrack for the first time since the plane crash that took the lives of several family members and close friends, Rick Hendrick addressed the community that reached out to him and his organization.

"All the things this community has done for my family has been unbelievable," said Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports, which fields cars for Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Terry Labonte and Brian Vickers in Sunday's Nextel Cup Ford 400.

Holding back tears at times, Hendrick candidly said talking about the crash is "kind of hard for me, but I'm going to do the best I can."
