Nov. 20--Steamy scenes of passion, tales of jealousy and revenge, dreams of rags to riches, the heroine whose innocence vanquishes forces of cunning and deceit.

Think you could twist all that into plots, subplots and more subplots, in Spanish, in 120 episodes? Then Telemundo's got a job for you.

The network this week put the call out for aspiring Spanish-language soap opera authors to sign up for a new novela-writing program it has developed with Miami Dade College: Taller Telemundo (Telemundo Workshop).

"It's the only one of its kind that we're aware of in the hemisphere," said Jose Vicente, president of Miami Dade College North Campus, where the course will start in March.
