Nov. 19--American Airlines Inc. simplified and sharply cut its business-class airfares at its Miami hub in an attempt to win back customers lost to nearby Fort Lauderdale International Airport.
The Fort Worth-based carrier dropped some of its fares purchased on the day of travel by as much as 85 percent from Wednesday's prices.
American also eliminated Saturday night stayover requirements and lowered fees for changing tickets from $100 to $50. The airline also said it will allow same-day standby travel for free.
