NEW YORK, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Investigators say that the anti-epilepsy drug vigabatrin showed promise for the treatment of some drug addicts durng a small clinical trial at a Mexican clinic.
Dr. Jonathan Brodie of the New York University School of Medicine and Steven Dewey of the Brookhaven National Laboratory gave vigabatrin or gamma-vinyl GABA (GVG) to 30 people with long addictions to cocaine, methamphetamine or both.
