WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. _ Her familiar shadow fell over the ADT Championship with the sun sinking Thursday at the end of the first round.

Playing in the final pairing, Annika Sorenstam birdied the final hole to seize the first-round lead with a 6-under-par 66, the best opening score since the season-ending tour championship moved to Trump International four years ago.

Sorenstam quickly positioned herself to claim her 10th victory of the season, her eighth on the LPGA Tour.
