Nov. 16--CANTON, N.Y. -- Northern New York colleges are continuing to broaden programs to stay ahead of an expected shortage of nurses in the United States.

Canton College of Technology and Jefferson Community College have witnessed enrollment numbers swell and applications skyrocket in recent years for associate degree nursing programs.
