Consumer Reports' nod boosts sales for Caribou Coffee.

Nov. 9--Caribou Coffee may not be as big as those other guys, but their java sure does taste better.

At least that's what Consumer Reports says.

The consumer magazine rated Caribou's Columbian brew tops in the nation in its December issue, which hit newsstands Monday. Eight O'Clock Coffee was second and Dunkin' Donuts third, beating out Starbucks, the largest coffee chain in the world.

"It was just a wonderful validation," said Michael J. Coles, Caribou's chief executive officer and former head of Atlanta's Great American Cookie Co.
