PHILADELPHIA _ This was one of those blood-on-the-moon games.
"Slobberknockers," the old-school players used to call them.
Glad you won, and even more glad you still have all the body parts you started the day with.
The whirlpools will be filled. The trainers will earn their money putting broken bodies back together. The limping will last all week.
It was paid for in pain and at a steep physical price, but the Eagles won again Sunday, won for the seventh time in a row, won for the 17th time in their last 18 regular-season games, won against the angriest, stingiest, nastiest defense in the National Football League.
The Birds' own D, by the way, will cheerfully tear your gizzard out and eat it raw, too.
