ORLANDO, Fla. _ Orlando Magic rookies Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson attended a team dinner Friday night at billionaire owner Rich DeVos' palatial West Palm Beach estate.
Nelson only could mutter, "Wow," and shake his head when DeVos said he had an appointment Saturday to see his old friend, George.
President George Bush, that is.
Said Howard, "Mr. DeVos had an elevator in his house. Man, my high school just got an elevator."
It was really the first time since becoming card-carrying members of the NBA that Howard and Nelson were truly left wide-eyed.
They have been unnerved, despite the fact that the Magic are counting on them heavily.
