GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas _ Just before the Juvenile Fillies, the second race on the Breeders' Cup program, the track condition was upgraded from "good" to "fast."
Sweet Catomine showed why, overcoming being checked in the second turn and pulling away handily down the home stretch for the victory over Balletto and Runway Model, who finished second and third.
Sweet Catomine became the fifth horse in Breeders' Cup history to win the Juvenile Fillies with only three races' experience _ and she ran the second-fastest time ever for the race at 1 1/16 miles, finishing in 1 minute, 41.65 seconds, just off Tempera's 2001 record of ...
