Oklahoma boasts two legitimate Heisman hopefuls.(Knight Ridder Newspapers)

STILLWATER, Okla. _ This is the year to have co-winners, to cut it in half, to present two awards.
The Heisman Trophy is sport's most famous individual award. Its stated purpose is to go to the nation's most outstanding college football player. Oklahoma has two players deserving of the stiff-arming statuette.
Although Oklahoma State played well enough to upset the second-ranked Sooners on Saturday, freshman kicker Jason Ricks' 49-yard field-goal attempt was too much hook and not enough draw. When the ball sailed three feet left of the upright, OU was a 38-35 winner and still in the national championship hunt.
