CHICAGO _ The loss of point guard Devin Harris to the NBA was a big blow for Wisconsin.
Then last week the Badgers lost a potential replacement for Harris when Maurice "Boo" Wade left the team indefinitely for undisclosed personal reasons, leaving senior Mike Wilkinson as the only returning starter.
Wilkinson and his teammates aren't feeling sorry for themselves, and neither is anyone familiar with the Badgers' Big Ten titles in 2002 and `03 or their conference tournament championship last season.
"We had a lot of guys competing for playing time at (point guard)," Wilkinson said Sunday at Big Ten media day. "We wish Boo the best and hope he can come back, but we're just going to go about it as if he's injured. There's a lot of potential and a lot of promise there."
Sophomore Kammron Taylor and freshman Michael Flowers are top prospects at point guard with Wade gone and Sharif Chambliss recovering from knee surgery.
