ACE inhibitors, aspirin, and alcohol each appear to increase the risk for an anaphylactic reaction in adults with food allergies, Dr. Denise-Anne Moneret-Vautrin reported at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Allergy Asthma, and Immunology.
Avoiding those substances could reduce anaphylaxis rates by as much as 30% in adults with food allergies, said Dr. Moneret-Vautrin of University Hospital, Nancy France.
