BETHESDA, MD. -- Some Korean American women don't believe treatment can cure breast cancer and are likely to put off seeking medical attention if they discover a breast lump, Simona C. Kwon said at the annual meeting of the American Society of Preventive Oncology.
Noting that "the manner in which people conceptualize illness is culturally and environmentally bound," she and her associates surveyed 43 Korean American women aged 40-75 in the New York City area.
