Oct. 28--IRON ORE SHIPMENTS INCREASED DURING JULY: July iron ore shipments headed for Great Lakes basin steelmakers increased 10 percent compared with a year ago, according to the Cleveland-based Lake Carriers' Association.

Shipments grew to 6.5 million net tons, mostly due to better performance at North American steel mills, according to the association's news release. The July tonnage, however, was a 3.1 percent decrease compared with a five-year average for that month. …
