The article entitled "Can Distributed Generation Prevent Blackouts?" (July EUN) lacked a reference to economic incentives available to electric power consumer who want to install combined heat and power (CHP) as part of a local utilities program of DG.
Doesn't this exist? We are working on a biomass fueled CHP system for an ethanol producer (operates 24/7/360 days per year with rolling blackouts for 5 days), Getting financial incentives in the form of reduced rates has been difficult. The CHP will provide 1/4 of the power the site uses and replaces all the natural gas. The fuel is ...
