The risk of heart failure is significantly greater in women than in men with the common arrhythmia, Dr. Simon Stewart said at the annual scientific sessions of the American Heart Association.
The same marked gender disparity in risk holds true for atrial fibrillation--associated cardiovascular and all-cause mortality, added Dr. Stewart of Glasgow (Scotland) University.
