All too often well-established AV companies have either ignored the demand from SMEs or have supplied low-quality equipment and provided support staff with little or no experience of handing smaller events.
It's easy to see why this can be tempting especially in a post 9/11 climate when margins are tighter than ever. Generally, the bigger the event, the bigger the budget.
But, rarely can SMEs justify investing in the huge AV resources that large organisations use. Some people in our industry complain that SMEs are demanding and insist on having the best equipment and staff. But why shouldn't they?
