The use of isotretinoin tar acne does not raise a patient's risk for depression, suicide, or neurotic and psychotic symptoms, reported Susan S. Jick, Sc.D., of the Boston Collaborative Drug Surveillance Program, Lexington, Mass., and her associates.

Anecdotal reports of a link between isotretinoin and adverse psychiatric symptoms have been highlighted in the media, causing widespread concern among clinicians and patients, the researchers said.
