Lactic Acidosis With HIV Drugs Reported.
Three cases at fatal lactic acidosis have been reported in pregnant women using stavudine and didanosine with other anti-HIV drugs, the Food and Drug Administration noted in a warning.
"The combination of stavudine (Zerit) and didanosine (Videx or Videx EC) should be used with caution during pregnancy and is recommended only if the potential benefit dearly outweighs the potential risk, such as when there are few remaining treatment options," Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. said ...
